Phi Mu Delta’s charity event a “smash”

Have you ever been to the most boring event in the history of the world? Well this was the OPPOSITE of that! Before the Super Smash Brothers Brawl tournament had even started the smack and trash were flying like monkeys in the land of Oz as 17 men began what would turn into hours of cutthroat Nintendo awesomeness.
The Brothers of Phi Mu Delta put on a charity event in honor of Relay for Life this past Saturday at the Parson’s Union Building. Making over a hundred dollars, the profits were split between the charity and the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
The Double elimination style tournament allowed only for the slightest amount of error in a players skills. In the end, a once defeated Jordan “Loaph” McClosky (using Wolf) faced off with and unbeaten, winners bracket leader, Zach Stauffer (using R.O.B.). To the two combatants this was no surprise; the two of them had been battling it out in SSBB over the weeks leading up to the event. When the two finally met, it was clear that neither would be pulling any punches, or shying from what may be considered nefarious tactics. In the end Stauffer used R.O.B and his rocket powered wonder to toss Loaph and his little puppy right off the map. “I play way too much,” said Stauffer. Clearly it paid off.
