Junior standout Alex Monroe (Lewistown, Pa./Indian Valley) finished 17th overall while pacing the No. 10 Lock Haven University men’s cross country team to a 24th place team finish on Saturday at the 39th Annual Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh.
The meet featured over 5,000 athletes from 400 schools.
The Haven women finished 29th out of 39 teams in the Women’s Brown Race.
The Bald Eagles took 24th overall in the Men’s Gold Race, which featured 39 teams. Monroe led the way with a 17th place finish. He crossed the line in 24:30 (8K), marking the top finish by a Division II athlete.
Sean Norberg (Shoreham, N.Y./Shoreham Wading River) and Dylan Mountain (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) rounded out the top-three finishers for the Bald Eagles, finishing with times of 25:59 (158th) and 26:03 (169th), respectively.
Jessica McDonald (Marietta, Pa./Donegal) was the top Lady Eagle finisher. She took 73rd with a time of 23:34 (6K).
Ashley Daniels (Danville, Pa./Danville)and Laura Histand (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) rounded out the top three finishers for The Haven women with times of 23:56 and 24:17, respectively.
