Lady Eagles celebrate after win over Millersville.

In the last several days, volleyball has extended their winning streak to 11 wins with impressive PSAC victories over Shippensburg, Millersville, and East Stroudsburg.

Each match was taken care of in four sets for the Haven who only has one remaining regular season game versus conference opposition Kutztown this upcoming Saturday before the playoffs.

The Lady Eagles have clinched a playoff berth already and sit comfortably on top of the PSAC East table.

Gao Xuan, who has recently been named PSAC East athlete of the week for the fourth time this season, will be looking to lead Lock Haven’s offensive in the post season. In the last the games she has tallied 50 kills.

A sophomore, Kaleigh Hudak, has very much become a part of fold in recent matches, putting in mature performance against Shippensburg this past Friday; Hudak was good for 15 kills with a .500 hitting percentage on the night.

Lock Haven’s setter, Alexa Garrity will once again be called upon to put up big numbers in the remaining regular season match in the what can be seen as a tune up game for the PSAC tournament; she looks up to the task with 132 assists against her last three opponents.

Bailey Farthing and Grace Novacek, the Haven’s stand out middle hitters have collectively had solid season; this past Saturday against PSAC East rivals Millersville the two combined for 27 kills.

Lock Haven’s brave libero, Erin Walsh, sets a senior’s example for younger player, fearlessly throwing herself around the court to keep the ball off the floor. Walsh, consistently leads Lock Haven in digs, tallying 25 in a recent performance against Millersville.

Both Monica Brown and Bethany Burns have both dealt with injury struggles this season but much to the relief of fans and surely Coach Kreiger, they have returned to fitness in recent matches. Bethany, a sophomore, recorded 14 digs in the last away outing at East Stroudsburg.

Lock Haven has been ranked 5th in the Atlantic Region II rankings behind Clarion (4), Gannon (3), Wheeling Jesuit (2) and leaders California, where Lock Haven managed a big win earlier this season.

The girls aim to make it 12 wins in a row on senior day this Saturday at 1 P.M. at our own Thomas Fieldhouse.
