Close to 50,000 voters cast their ballot for comedian Roseanne Barr for president and peace activist Cindy Sheehan for vice president on Election Day this year.
According to buzzfeed.com, Barr placed fifth in the presidential election and although she lost, seemed thrilled that Obama had won.
After the announcement of Obama winning a second term, Barr tweeted, “CONGRATULATIONS OBAMA! #barr2016.”
Barr and Sheehan ran on the Peace and Freedom ticket and their platform included marijuana legalization, environmental preservation and equal rights.
Barr finished with 48,797 votes accumulated across all 50 states.
Although Barr was millions upon millions of votes from winning the election, she won more votes than anyone probably ever expected.
So does the comedian have plans of running again in 2016? According to her tweet, #barr2016, we may be hearing more from her in the next presidential election. Until then she wrote to fans that she plans on going back to “being funny again.”
