The Maryland Club Collegiate Boxing Invitational was held Friday November 9, 2012 and held host to the year’s first fights for the Lock Haven Team.  All four Lock Haven Boxers took action out of the red corner.

Leading off for the Eagles was Corey McQuiston in his first career bout at 125 pounds.  He defeated Carlos Perez of Navy in a tough fought unanimous decision to earn his first win.

Next was Matt Brownback who faced off in the 145 pound weight class against Dave Montz of Penn State University.  Brownback lost a unanimous decision in his first career fight.

Owen Gregory took to the ring next at 165 pound in his first fight against North Carolina’s Zak Haidary.  The fight was dominated by the Lock Haven fighter and the decision was unanimously in his favor.

Last for our boxers was the main event of the evening which highlighted Jeoffrey Traore in the 195 pound weight class facing off against Navy’s Anthony Alexander.  Traore was the much more impressive fighter bringing home a unanimous decision win that he worked very hard for.

The next trip for the Lock Haven team will be to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy on Friday November 16.
