The Lock Haven University men’s basketball team (5-13, 3-12 PSAC) fell to Gannon (17-4, 11-4 PSAC) on the road today, 77-66 in a PSAC West matchup at Gannon’s Hammermill Center.
The Bald Eagles trailed Gannon 36-30 at the half. Wali Hepburn (Philadelphia/Neumann Goretti) and Kasheef Festus (Philadelphia/Archbishop Carrol) each scored eight points in the opening
Gannon opened up a 20-point lead with 6:53 remaining in the game, but the Bald Eagles battled back over the final minutes.
Terrell Johnson (Philadelphia/Imhotep Charter) led Lock Haven with 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field. Johnson hit four three-pointers in the game.
Festus and Hepburn finished with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
Nate Walters (Reedsville, Pa./Indian Valley) had a solid game off the bench. Walters scored seven points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
Gannon made 11 three’s in the game, led by Robert Wilson, who shot 6-of-9 from three-point land.
The Bald Eagles return home on Wednesday (February 6) when LHU hosts Mercyhurst in a PSAC West matchup. Tipoff at Thomas Fieldhouse is set for 8 p.m.
