Don’t stress, it’s just college

College is great. Parties, friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, all that good stuff- but then there’s the actual school part of the experience. It’s very easy to get stressed during these weeks of school- especially as the school year is winding down. So here are some things you can do to make the most of your school year, without getting too stressed out. Consider these helpful tips when you’re feeling a bit more than stressed.

Treat yourself to, well, a treat. Alright, let’s be honest here: sometimes you just need something sweet as a pick-me-up. Take the long way to the vending machines before selecting a special treat to pick you up and lower your stress, even if it’s just for a little while.

Facebook creep on yourself. Looking through your old pictures can help you feel better and less homesick at times. It’s a great stress reliever to take a trip down memory lane and laugh at some of the pictures you’ve been tagged in over the years.

Make a list of ten things you’ve accomplished today/this week. It’s really easy to get too caught up in everything you have to do and forget about all the things you’ve done! Make a list of things you’ve already accomplished to help remind yourself of the great things you’ve already done. It’s a positive reminder that you’re working hard and succeeding!

Create a new Pandora station.  Music really can help you de-stress. If you’re busy doing work, pick a new station that can help you focus- but can also give you a little boost of energy to get it done, too.

Call your mom. Sometimes a little word of encouragement from your mom or dad can make all the difference. Just telling them about your week and venting to someone outside of school can help you relax and let off a little steam!

These are just a few things you can do to help keep your stress level down and your energy and focus up! Remember that it’s not worth it to worry about the little things that don’t matter.
