The Lock Haven University men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams closed out the regular season Saturday and prepared for next weekend’s PSAC Championships with a solid outing at the Deneault Invitational, hosted by Cornell.

Leading the way today was Alex Monroe (Lewistown, Pa./Indian Valley), who clocked the nation’s 12th fastest 5K time (NCAA Division II) as he took home the victory in a NCAA qualifying time of 14:32.56.

Monroe topped the second-place finisher by 25 seconds.

Sean Harper (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley) clocked Lock Haven’s third-fastest time in school history in the 500-meter dash. He took third with a sizzling 1:05.18.

Paul Stults (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) had a strong outing for The Haven men. He was second in the 300-meter dash (36.59) and fifth in the high jump (6-2.25).

Leading the way for the Lady Eagles was Fallon Heddings (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg), who finished second in the triple jump. She matched her second-best mark of 37-07.75, which is an NCAA provisional mark.

Lock Haven returns to action next weekend (Saturday & Sunday, Feb. 23-24) at the 2013 PSAC Championships, hosted by Edinboro University.
