Lock Haven has announced that they will be adding freestyle canoeing as a sport for the Fall semester.
Freestyle canoeing is a sport that involves maneuvering one’s canoe in certain positions during a musical selection of the player’s choice.
“I love the adrenaline rush that I feel whenever I’m in my canoe,” says an aspiring freestyle student. “I just bring my boom box out near the river and turn on the sooth sounds of Barry Manilow and just start paddling to the beat.”
Head Coach Finn Caenoo said that he excepts a large turn out for auditions in August.
“I have a feeling that people are going to dig this sport. It’s new, it’s hip, and it’s taking over,” he exclaimed.
