The No. 8 Lock Haven University lacrosse team improved to a perfect 7-0 in PSAC action with an 11-5 win at Gannon on Saturday.

Lock Haven (10-1, 7-0 PSAC) got hat tricks from Rachel Ward (Fishers, Ind./Bishop Chatard) and Kelly Hamilton (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) as The Haven cruised past a Gannon (7-5, 4-3 PSAC) team that received votes in this week’s national poll.

LHU trailed 2-0 early, but scored three straight and led 7-4 at halftime.

Jessica Pandolf (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) and Jenna Dingler (Washington Township, N.J./Washington Township) both scored twice for LHU and Hope Thomas (Carmel, Ind./Bishop Chatard) added one gaol.

Chelsea Borrino (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) paced LHU’s attack with a three-assist effort. Emily Cilla (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) added one helper.

Melinda Wojt (Telford, Pa./Souderton) had a major impact on the game’s outcome. She led the defensive effort with four caused turnovers and four ground balls.

As a unit, the Lady Eagles caused 10 turnovers.

Chrissy Baffuto (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) made six saves in the huge road win.

Lock Haven returns to action next Friday, April 19 at 3 p.m. when the Lady Eagles host rival and second-ranked West Chester.
