The Lock Haven University swim team finished 11th overall at the 2014 PSAC Championships as the Lady Eagles closed out a four day meet Sunday, Feb. 23 at Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pa.
Three Lady Eagles dominated the 100-freestyle with excellent times and lifetime best results. Carley Nitchie (Forest Hill, Md./Bel Air) recorded a lifetime best (54.93). Danielle Parowski (Altoona, Pa./Univ. of Pittsburgh) finished in 27th place (54.51), while Kristen Capretti (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) concluded her PSAC career swims with a lifetime best time of 54.55 and finished in 28th place.
Senior Kayla Schnars (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefone) has had an amazing career with LHU and concluded a final solid PSAC meet in the 200-backstroke (2:14.19).
The Lady Eagles returned to the pool later in the evening to swim the 400-freestyle relay. Capretti, Nitchie, Parowski and Kristin Taylor (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York) finished in 12th with a time of 3:41.20.
The 2014 NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships are set for March 12-15 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, OH.
