Ten spooky shows for your Halloween night

Happy Halloween everyone! I'm sure most of you after a fruitful night of trick-or-treating are going to sit on the couch and watch some classy horror movies like "Pinnochio's Revenge" or "The ABC's of Death", but if your interested in trying something a little different how about instead of a bunch of movies you binge watch some television.

A pink filled October

LOCK HAVEN- October provides us with a beautiful array of colors year after year as we look above to the trees. The combination shades of oranges, yellows and reds never look as beautiful as they do when they cover a mountain in the crisp fall air. However this past weekend October looked a little different at Lock Haven University.

Students crown homecoming royalty

Students had a memorable homecoming week this year, featuring fun events and triumphs for the football team, but it will be especially unforgettable for two students who were crowned during Saturday’s game. Rebecca Shortes and Godfred Anyang were just two of several hopefuls for the 2014 Homecoming King and Queen positions.

Football wins second straight

Caleb Walton gashed the Millersville defense on a 37 yard run on Lock Haven’s third play from scrimmage. Things were looking good then. Things were looking bright. Lock Haven (2-6, 2-5 PSAC) took the ball down as far as the Millersville (0-8, 0-7 PSAC) 27 yard line, before being moved back 10 yards due to a holding penalty, and then Lock Haven was forced to punt.

Critiquing the first College Football Playoff rankings

The College Football Playoff Selection Committee has released their first ever playoff rankings, and it’s safe to say that the SEC is in good hands – for now. The top four teams are: Mississippi State, Florida State, Auburn and Ole Miss. All of those teams but Florida State are in the SEC West. This was the first of seven rankings that will be released by the committee, but the committee will ultimately pick the final four teams to play in the national semifinals.

Gun Control: Aim for Safety

Gun control has remained a steady issue within the United States and efforts have been made by the President, Congress and politicians alike to prevent mass shootings and violence from occurring. Although no major new laws have yet to be written, with the abundance of gun violence occurring every day in the U.S and across the globe, it would be my best guess to say the necessity for a solution to the problem is rapidly approaching.
