The Lock Haven University men’s basketball team defeated Millersville 78-71 on Saturday at Thomas Fieldhouse.
Wali Hepburn scored 25 points, had eight rebounds and five assists for the Bald Eagles (8-15, 8-11 PSAC) en-route to the victory. That was Hepburn’s sixth game this season with 25 points or more.
Millersville (13-13, 9-11 PSAC) led Lock Haven 35-34 at halftime but were outscored 44-36 in the second half, which led to the Lock Haven win.
Al Blount chipped in 11 points for the Eagles while Theo West scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds.
Anthony Moe led Millersville with 20 points and 13 rebounds on 9-12 shooting. Millersville outshot Lock Haven from the field, shooting 43 percent to Lock Haven’s 39 percent.
However, Lock Haven hit 26-30 free throws which ended up being the difference in the game. Millersville got to the line 17 times, hitting 15 of them.
Millersville also dominated Lock Haven in the paint, outscoring the Bald Eagles 34-20. The game saw 10 ties and eight lead changes.
