Saturday Night Live just celebrated its 40 year anniversary this last Sunday. A few days before the historic 40th anniversary episode a digital app was launched containing 5,500 clips over the 40 seasons.

The app is interesting because it  will adapt to what you want to see. It will ask you to pick favorite characters, or even your favorite time periods.  After a while the app will learn what kind of comedy you want to be watching using an algorithm and will have your favorite sketches ready for you.

The app also features behind the scenes clips of hosts and cast members of the show.

The new NBC app is also trying to keep the adds down between clips. The time between ads is based on how long of clips the person watches, not by how many videos they watch. “People will get a new video ad roughly every six minutes,” said Rob Hayes executive Vice President of media at NBC. Anheuser-Bush is the apps official sponsor.

The app also comes with a emoji keyboard where you can get emojis of your favorite SNL characters.

The SNL app is only available for iPads and iPhones in the Apple App Store at this time, but there is an Android version in the works.

If you are a Saturday Night Live fan this app is great. You can watch your favorite characters or even check out new sketches you haven’t seen. More videos will continue to be added for one great comedy experience. Be sure to check it out!
