The No. 2 Lock Haven Lady Eagles lacrosse team defeated the Warriors of East Stroudsburg, 18-5 for their 11th win of the season and remain undefeated.
Two-time Division II Midfielder of the Year Jessica Pandolf posted a hat trick in the first six minutes of the game en route to a game-high five goals.
Pandolf had plenty of help though, as nine Lady Eagles scored for head coach Kristen Selvage. In the first half, LHU was up big, 11-0. Thirty-six minutes into the game, East Stroudsburg finally was able to get on the scoreboard, although they trailed 12-1.
Senior, Rachel Ward was efficient in the contest, scoring three goals on three shots. Sophomore standout, Shannon Bissnette added a season-high seven assists to give her 32 on the season. She has assisted on 23.5 percent of the team’s goals this season.
Bissnette’s value cannot be understated since Taylor Klunk has the second most assists on the team with 14. Kelly Hamilton is third with seven.
Freshman, Alex O’Herrick sustained her high-level of play with a game-high eight draw controls. O’Herrick has appeared in all 11 games this season and has started in eight of them. She is sixth on the team in goals, seventh in assists and second in draw controls on the season.
Jenna Dingler and Katie Costanza led the strong defensive effort. LHU is currently fifth in the nation in terms of scoring defense at 5.73 per game.
This Friday, April 17, Lock Haven will honor their seniors before the game against Gannon at 3 p.m. The ladies will then have four consecutive games on the road to end the season, including three Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contests.
