The Lock Haven University field hockey team has pushed their record to 4-0 in the young season. It is the best start since the 2004 season.
The ladies have recorded wins at home against William & Mary and Ohio along with two road wins against Cornell and Towson.
In the four wins this season, the LHU defense has allowed just two goals. Junior Paige Stuppy and senior Maddie Wagenfield have each seen significant time in goal.
The offensive production has been spread around thus far. Reigning Field Hockey Player of the Week and team captain, Rachel Valentine, leads the team with three goals. Colleen McCabe, Tamia Roach and Kiersten Cepeda are all tied for second on the team with two goals. Stephanie Whiteman and Danalee Degannes have each found the back of the net once for the Bald Eagles.
Pat Rudy, who is in her 20th season as Lock Haven field hockey coach, will lead her team on the road against Colgate on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. The team will return to Charlotte Smith Field on Friday, Sept. 18 to play Richmond at 3 p.m.
