Interesting flicks to look forward to in October

Going to the movies is a lot of fun especially if it means a well deserved break from the daily grind to lose yourself in a comedy, an action or, especially in the month of Halloween, a horror movie. Here are three movies coming out in theaters this month to look forward to.

“Pan”

Directed by Joe Wright and starring Hugh Jackman, “Pan” isn’t just another remake of the beloved “Peter Pan” tale, but the origin story of the hero by the same name. In this action adventure, Peter, an orphan, is swept away to the magical world of Neverland where he finds not only fun and dangers, but ultimately his destiny.

“Pan” hits theaters tomorrow, Oct. 9.

 “Steve Jobs”

Directed by Danny Boyle and starring Michael Fassbender, this biopic follows passionate Jobs as he launches three iconic Apple products. It is an insightful film showing how his career affected his personal life and his health.

 “Goosebumps”

Directed by Rob Letterman and starring Jack Black, this movie follows the story of Zach Cooper after he moves to Greendale, Maryland and meets Hannah, the daughter of R. L. Stine, the writer of the “Goosebumps” series. After Zach accidently unleashes the monsters from the young adult horror series, it’s up to him, Hannah and the author himself to put them back in the books.

Check out “Goosebumps”, in theaters Friday, Oct. 16.

“Crimson Peak”

Directed by Guillermo del Toro and starring Tom Hiddleston, this supernatural horror follows a young woman who, after a family tragedy, is seduced by a mysterious stranger and swept away to a house on top a mountain of red clay. Will she be able to escape the ghosts of her past in this mysterious house?

“Crimson Peak” hits theaters on Friday, Oct. 16.

“The Last Witch Hunter”

Directed by Breck Eisner and starring Vin Disel, this action adventure follows the story of the last witch hunter  who must fight against an old foe that will determine the survival of the human race.

“The Last Witch Hunter” hits theaters Oct. 23.

These five movies are not the only ones coming out this month. Other movies include true story “The Walk,” coming out Oct. 9, the spy thriller “Bridge of Spies,” coming out Oct. 16 and horror movie “Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension” coming out on Oct. 23.
