With midterms upon us, some college students look forward to kicking back and watching television once this week is over. Luckily, fall is the time of the year that TV series and seasons premiere, and October is no exception. Here are three shows premiering this month, just in time for the end of midterms.

“Da Vinci’s Demons”

Airing Saturday, Oct. 24 at 8:00 pm on Starz, the third, and last, season of “Da Vinci’s Demons”. For those who don’t know, “Da Vinci’s Demons”, starring Tom Riley as Leonardo Da Vinci, follows the untold story the artist, in his early years in Renaissance Florence. At age 25, his genius is barely contained and looked down upon by the church. Because of this, he struggles to live within the confines of his own reality turning instead to inventing the future. If you need to catch up with “Da Vinci’s Demons,” you can find this series on Netflix and Amazon Instant Video.

“Supergirl”

In the era of superhero television shows, this new series airs Monday, Oct. 26 at 8:30 on CBS, starring Melissa Benoist as Supergirl. 24 year old Kara Zor-El is the cousin of Superman. After being sent away from Krypton at the age of 12, she was taken in by the Danvers and took the name Kara Danvers. Kara spent years hiding her powers but now she must now learn to embrace them.

“Grimm”

Return to the world of the Grimm brothers and fairy tales with the premier of the fifth season of “Grimm” on Friday, Oct. 30 at 9:00 on NBC. For those of you who are new to the series, this show centers around homicide investigator Nick Burkhardt of the Portland Police department as he learns that he is descended from a line of monster hunters known as Grimm’s. He faces wolf-men who prey on women in red, bears who punish home invaders and other creatures, both from fairytales and other myths. If you need to catch up with “Grimm,” you can find it on Amazon Instant Video.
