After finishing last season tied for fifth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East division, the Lock Haven University baseball team was selected to finish in sole possession of fifth this season.

Millersville earned the top mark in the East and Mercyhurst was chosen to finish first in the West.

The Marauders of Millersville received six of eight first-place votes. East Stroudsburg, selected to finish second in the division, received the other two first-place votes. Shippensburg and West Chester were also picked to finish in front of Lock Haven.

The 2016 season will be the program’s second under head coach Jim Chester.

Justin Sleigh, a sophomore from DuBois, Pa., will look to build off of a freshman season that saw him earn All-PSAC honors. Sleigh compiled a slash line of .380/.426/.490 with five doubles and two home runs.

Junior Jacob Belinda tossed the second-most innings last season and posted a 3.90 ERA.

The Bald Eagles’ season will open with a four-game series against Chowan University which will span from February 27-28.
