The Haven Activities Council (HAC) and the Art department will be busy this upcoming week! As always, they strive to provide excellent, fun and sometimes educational events for the students on campus. As a bonus, for us poor college students, everything is free!

Here’s what’s happening this week in Lock Haven!

Friday, Feb. 5

7pm: HAC Big Screen Movie! Come check out the newest and last installment of the “Hunger Games” series with “Mocking Jay part 2” in Price Auditorium!

The war in Panem is escalating, adding to the destruction of other districts. As the reluctant leader of the rebellion, Katniss Everdeen must bring together an army against President Snow. Can she do it, when everything she holds dear to her is in danger?

If you have any questions, or for more information on this event, please contact the Student Activities Office. They are located in the upper level of the Parson Union Building (PUB).

6pm – 8pm: Sloan Art Gallery! Oil painter Tamara English will be holding a Reception and Artist’s Talk in the Sloan Fine Arts Center Gallery for her exhibit called “The Worlds Inside.”

Painting as early as 2008, Tamara English uses her paintings to investigate the personal sense of the divine beyond any specific religion. Her paintings invite the viewers to find the extraordinary in the ordinary.

English’s works will be on display until Feb. 19, and will be open for free public viewing Monday through Friday from 8am to 9pm.

If you have any questions, or for more information on this event, please contact the Professor Jason Bronner. His office is located at 333 Sloan. For more information on Tamara English, and to see more of her artwork, check out her website at tamaraenglish.com.

Remember, the Students Activities office also sends out a weekly email with events happening on and around campus. Keep your inbox clean, your eye on incoming mail and have fun this week!
