As we wind down to the end this semester, the Visual Arts and Performance Department is busy, busy! There are a lot more events going on these last two weeks then what I can include here. Here’s what’s happening this week in Lock Haven!

Friday, April 22

7 p.m.: HAC Big Screen Event! This week will feature the wise-cracking, fourth-wall breaking superhero movie, “Deadpool.”

When a mercenary is caught up in an experimental procedure to give him super powers and, in theory, cure his cancer, he is left with a face even a mother wouldn’t love. He adopts the alter ego Deadpool and decides to take revenge on the man who did this to him.

If you have any questions, or for more information on this event, please contact the Student Activities Office. They are located in the upper level of the Parson Union Building (PUB).

7 p.m: Dance Concert! The students of the dance program are putting together a concert to show off everything they’ve done this semester. There will also be performances Saturday at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

If you have any questions, contact Jayme Host, a professor in the visual arts department. Her email is and her office is 140 Sloan Building.

Saturday, April 16

6 p.m. – 8 p.m.: Sloan Art Gallery! Come check out the artwork of graduating seniors in the Sloan Fine Arts Gallery.

The work will be on display from April 25 until May 6, and this event is open for free public viewing every day from 8 a.m to 9 p.m.

If you have any questions, or for more information on this event, please contact Professor Jason Bronner. His office is located at 333 Sloan.

Remember, the Students Activities office also sends out a weekly email with events happening on and around campus. Keep your inbox clean, your eye on incoming mail and have fun this week!
