The Jerry Sandusky scandal has captivated the Pa. population—and nation—since Tuesday. The case involves ex-Penn State Defensive Coordinator Jerry Sandusky, who is accused of sexually abusing 9 children over a several-year span.

The children were all members of “The Second Mile,” a non-profit organization for troubled boys, founded by Sandusky and based in Clinton County.

So far, nine victims are officially linked to the 46 charges Sandusky is facing. Many more potential victims have subsequently come forward, claiming impropriety on the part of Sandusky, to authorities.

It is the talk of not only news media, but of social media as well.  “JoePA” “PSU” and “Penn State” were among the trending topics in the United States on Twitter.

Penn State University students rallied across PSU campus on Tues. night, down College Ave. and in front of PSU President Graham Spanier’s home, demanding that he resign.
It was announced last night at a meeting by the Board of Trustees that Graham Spanier and head coach Joe Paterno were in fact fired from their positions.
Rodney Erickson, the Penn State provost is now the interim president, and assistant coach, Tom Bradley is stepping up as interim head coach.

It was previously announced that Paterno would retire at the end of the 2011 season, but his  time was cut short and  he will be leaving immediately.
The court case for Jerry Sandusky has been pushed back to an unknown date.
